be/fall ill

生病

“生病”的英文和“生”(be born)并沒(méi)有關(guān)系，可以用be ill或fall ill來(lái)表示。

I am ill and not feeling well.

我生病了，感覺(jué)不太舒服。

對(duì)話

A:Are you all right?

你還好嗎?

B:I fell ill.

我生病了。

“病了”除了可以用ill表示外，還可以用sick

所以“生病”就可以說(shuō)成be/fall sick

另外，還可以用become和get來(lái)替換fall

發(fā)燒

要想直譯“發(fā)燒”并不容易，要記住它是用have a fever來(lái)表示的。

I have a fever and a headache.

我發(fā)燒了，還頭疼。

你看起來(lái)臉色有點(diǎn)蒼白。

B:I think I have a fever.

我想我是發(fā)燒了。

“發(fā)高燒”是have a high fever

另外，fever也可以換成temperature“溫度”這個(gè)詞

傷風(fēng)鼻塞

傷風(fēng)感冒時(shí)，鼻子經(jīng)常會(huì)堵塞、不通氣，這種癥狀就是“傷風(fēng)鼻塞”，但是需要注意的是，它的英文表達(dá)中沒(méi)有表示“鼻子”的nose，而是用了head一詞，即head cold。

I have a head cold.

我感冒了，而且鼻塞。

A:I have a terrible head cold.

我得了嚴(yán)重的傷風(fēng)鼻塞。

B:You'd better go to see a doctor.

你最好去看看醫(yī)生。

打針

“打針”雖然由“打”和“針”兩個(gè)字組成，但是它的英文表達(dá)里既沒(méi)有表示“打”的beat，也沒(méi)有表示“針”的needle，而是用have an injection來(lái)表示的。

I hate having injections.

我討厭打針。

我發(fā)燒了。

B:You should go to hospital to have an injection.

你應(yīng)該去醫(yī)院打一針。

injection是名詞，它的動(dòng)詞是inject

有時(shí)候，“打針”還可以用give sb.a shot來(lái)表示

另外，“輸液”用英文表示是have an infusion/?n?fju??n/

定期檢查

“定期的”就是regular，而“檢查”可以表示為checkup，所以“定期檢查”的英文表達(dá)直接翻譯過(guò)來(lái)就行。

Mary went to hospital to have a regular checkup yesterday.

瑪麗昨天去醫(yī)院做定期檢查了。

A:Do you need to do a regular checkup tomorrow?

明天你是不是要去做定期檢查啊?

B:No.It is the day after tomorrow.

不是，是后天。

我們經(jīng)常說(shuō)的“體檢”，即“身體健康檢查”

用英文表示就是health checkup

還可以用physical examination 表示

Take some cold medicine and then go to sleep for a while.

吃點(diǎn)感冒藥，然后睡一覺(jué)。
