61 Once a Year!一年一次!
Tom finished school when he was eighteen years old.湯姆完成了學(xué)校當(dāng)他十八歲。
He wanted to work at a bank in the city.他想在一家銀行工作在這個(gè)城市。
He went to the bank and asked for work there. 他去銀行,要求在那里工作。
A man took him into a small room 一個(gè)人把他帶到一個(gè)小房間
and gave him questions on a piece of paper.和給他的問題在一張紙上。
Tom wrote the answers on the paper in a hurry. 湯姆寫在紙上的答案匆忙。
The man looked for a few minutes. 那個(gè)人看了幾分鐘。
and then said, "Was your birthday on the 12th of December, Tom?"然后說,“你的生日是12月12日,湯姆?”
"Yes, sir. " Tom said.“是的,先生。”湯姆說。
"What year?" the man asked.“什么年?”那人問。
"Oh, once a year, sir," Tom said.“哦,一年一次,先生,”湯姆說。
