① at the base意為“在底部；基礎(chǔ)”。

There is a waterproof layer at the base of the building. 樓房的底部有防水層。

② at the bottom意為“在底部，在下面”。

They found a sunken ship at the bottom of the lake. 他們?cè)诤装l(fā)現(xiàn)一艘沉船。
