fall down 倒下，倒塌，失敗

最基本的含義為掉在地上，或者從上至下掉落下來(lái)，fall down a cliff 表示從懸崖上掉下來(lái)， fall down the stairs 表示在從臺(tái)階上摔下來(lái)。也可以用來(lái)表示“失敗”。

例句：

My father fell down the stairs the other day.
