1. why不能引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句。
This is the reason why he came late.
這就是他來晚的原因。
2. 非限制性定語從句一般不用that引導(dǎo)，指人用who或whom，指物用which。
His new house , which has four rooms, is very clean.
他的新房子很干凈，有四個(gè)房間。
We're listening to our English teacher , who is thirty.
我們正在聽英語老師講課，他三十歲了。
3. 先行詞指人，在從句中作主語用who引導(dǎo)從句；在從句中作賓語用whom引導(dǎo)從句，而且whom不能省略。
The driver , who was very young, had only just got his licence.
那個(gè)司機(jī)剛剛拿到駕照，他還很年輕。
Yesterday I happened to see John , whom I hadn't met for twenty years.
昨天我碰巧遇見約翰了，我20年沒有見到他了。
4. 先行詞指人或物并在從句中作定語時(shí)，用whose引導(dǎo)從句。
The boy over there is John, whose father works in New York.
那邊那個(gè)男孩就是約翰，他父親在紐約工作。
The first building is our teaching building , whose top is round.
第一幢樓是我們的教學(xué)樓，頂部是圓的。
5. 先行詞指物并在從句中作主語或賓語時(shí)，用which引導(dǎo)從句，而且which不能省略。
I bought an i-Phone 5 yesterday, which cost me much money.
昨天我買了一部i-Phone 5，花了我不少錢。
Last week he found a wallet on the way to school, which he handed in to the teacher afterwards.
上周上學(xué)路上他撿了一個(gè)錢包，后來上交了老師。
6. 先行詞在從句中作地點(diǎn)狀語用where引導(dǎo)從句。
The day before yesterday we visited Lu Xun museum, where we stayed for two hours.
前天我們參觀了魯迅博物館，我們在那里逗留了兩小時(shí)。
7. 先行詞在從句中作時(shí)間狀語用when引導(dǎo)從句。
October 1 is our National Day , when we always enjoy a holiday.
十月一日是國慶日，這一天我們總是享受假日。
8. 表示人名或地名的專有名詞后經(jīng)常跟有非限制性定語從句。
Tom , who is our monitor , is always ready to help others.
湯姆，我們的班長，總是樂于助人。
Beijing ， which is the capital of China , lies in the north of China.
北京，中國的首都，位于中國的北部。
