check= cheque．意為“支票”。

Cashing Traveier's Cheques兌現(xiàn)旅行支票

Daniel: Could you cash some traveler's checks for me?

丹尼爾：你能給我兌現(xiàn)一些旅行支票嗎？

Clerk : Yes. How much do you want to cash?

職員：好的。您要兌現(xiàn)多少？

Daniel: Five hundred US dollars should do the trick.

丹尼爾：五百美元就好了。

Clerk: Please sign your name on the back of each check. May I see your passport, please?

職員：請在每張支票的背面簽上您的名字。我可以看一下您的護照嗎？

Daniel: Sure. Here it is. Will this take a long time? I'm kind off in a hurry. I have to catch a bus soon.

Clerk: No. sir, not long at all. Do you want to cash all the checks in US dollars?

1.“do the trick“是口語的說法，意思是“起作用，奏效，解決問題，達到目的”，例如：A bit more flour should do the trick.（再來一點面粉就可以了。）This low-cost solution may do the trick.（這個低成本的解決方案也許可以奏效。）

2.“kind of”表示“有一點，有點幾，有些”，通常置于動詞、形容詞或副詞前，用于口語中例如：She looks kind of pale after her illness.（她病后面色有點蒼白。）

3.“in a hurry"意思是”匆忙”，例如：I've got to go. I'm in a hurry.（我得走了，我比較趕時間。）“in too much of a hurry”表示“太匆忙，極匆忙”，倒如: You'll make mistakes if you do things in too much of a hurry.（如果你做事太匆忙，是會犯錯的。）此外，“in a hurry to　do sth.”表示“匆忙做某事”，例如：Why are You in such a hurry to leave?（你為什么這么匆忙要走啊？）

4.“wait a moment”意為“稍等一會兒”，也可以說“just a moment”，“wait/just a minute/second”。
