Expo 2010's Guangxi Week was marked on Wednesday with a lecture at Shanghai Library by Song Jidong, deputy director of the Guangxi Pavilion.
Guangxi is a mountaineous region in southwest China inhabited by many ethnic minorities.
In his lecture, Song illustrated the design and special features of Guangxi Pavilion, which uses "Green Home, Blue Dream" as its theme. The pavilion displays the ritual bronze drums and silk embroidery made by the ethnic Zhuang people. It also shows the sceneries of the picturesque Lijiang River, unique Longji Terraces, and tropical mangroves.
The pavilion has artifical banyan trees as background and a multimedia system that beams a 3D vision of ocean to reflect its "Green Home, Blue Dream" theme.
