My honest, hard-working father stood before the judge to explain why he wished to be excused from jury duty. "Your Honor, my small grocery store is the sole means of support for my wife and eight children. To serve as a juror would mean closing the store, and I can't sfford that."
"Mr. Jones, what if everyone were like you?" asked the judge.
"Your Honor," my father replied, "if everyone were like me, you wouldn't be needing a jury."
