3. Who's on vacation?

Albert Einstein was walking to a train station with two friends at his sides. Because the train was delayed1, the three of them sat down for a cup of coffee. And then they also drank some alcohol2.

After a while they forgot all about the train. So they drank and talked, and talked and drank. But then they heard the final announcement that the train was leaving so the three got up and ran. And Einstein had drunk too much and fell a little behind and couldn't catch up with his friends. The other two caught the train and went away with it.

Then Einstein stopped there and laughed and laughed again. Everyone around him began to look at him and said, "What are you laughing at? You missed the train, you know?"

And Einstein said, "Yeah, Yeah, I know I missed the train, but I'm laughing at my two friends because they had supposedly just come to see me off!"

阿爾伯特·愛因斯坦由兩個朋友一左一右地陪著走去火車站。因為火車誤點，他們就先坐下來喝杯咖啡，然后又喝了點酒。

過了一會兒，他們完全忘了搭火車這回事，就這樣邊聊邊喝，邊喝邊聊。后來，他們聽到廣播通知火車就要開動的最后通告，趕快起身跑過去，愛因斯坦因為喝多了酒，結(jié)果落在兩個朋友后面，沒有趕上火車，其他兩個人則跳上車走了。

愛因斯坦卻站在那里一直捧腹笑個不停。他身邊的人都看著他，問：“你笑什么？你沒搭上火車，知道嗎？”

愛因斯坦回答：“是??！是?。∥抑雷约簺]搭上火車。我是在笑那兩個朋友，因為他們本來是來送我的?！?
