4. Sherlock Holmes and Watson

Sherlock Holmes and Watson were out camping1 one night. After pitching2 the tent and rolling out the sleeping bags, they decided to turn in and sleep.

In the middle of the night, Holmes violently shook Watson awake. "Watson,' he said, "look at the sky and tell me what you see."

I see the stars. replied Watson. "Yes, and what does that tell you?"

Watson took a big breath, "Astronomically3 speaking, it means that we are insignificant4 among the spectrum5 of the universe, psychologically speaking that we are only creating a dent6 in the infinite mystery of life, and theologically7 speaking that God rules all things. How about you, sir?"

What it tells me, he said, "is that someone has stolen our tent."
