FOR LU THE FLUTIST
贈盧長笛
We made merry by Sandy Stream on olden day,
沙河塘上舊游嬉,
When you were young and gay.
盧郎少年時。
You blew your flute wafting to the moon with the breeze,
一聲長笛月中吹,
And flew with cloud and wild geese.
和云和雁飛。
Surprized how stars on high
驚物換,
And things below have changed, I sigh.
嘆星移。
We look at each other with temples grey.
相看兩鬢絲。
In broken-hearted royal garden grass grows drear;
斷腸吳苑草萋萋,
Leaning on rails, we wait for one never to appear.
倚樓人未歸。
