　　A: I was walking across the road yesterday when I saw a hideouslydeformed dog. I really felt sorry for the thing.

　　B: It is frightful to think that such an animal has to keep on living.

　　A: Not to mention how unsightly it looked. It only had three legs.

　　B: I agree. Unpleasant things like that should now be in the public view.

　　A: 昨天過馬路的時候我在路上碰到了一條長得奇形怪狀的狗。我真覺得它可憐。

　　B: 一想到那樣的一只狗還要繼續(xù)活著真是讓人不寒而栗。

　　A: 先不說它長得有多難看!它還只有三條腿。

　　B: 沒錯。那種令人慘不忍睹的東西不該讓大家看到。

　　hideously: 極丑地;可怕地。

　　deformed: 畸形的，可憎的。

　　frightful: 恐怖的，令人戰(zhàn)栗的。

　　not to mention: 更別提，除……之外(還)。

　　unsightly: 不悅目的，難看的。

　　unpleasant: 討厭的，令人不愉快的。
