　　A: How was your trip to Las Vegas?

　　B: We had a great time going to shows and gambling all night. It’s hard to come home; Kansas City seems pretty tame by comparison.

　　A: 在拉斯維加斯玩得好嗎?

　　B: 我們整晚看表演、賭博，開心極了。真不想回去。相比之下堪薩斯市就顯得沉悶乏味了。

　　A: I’ve been waiting all my life to study with Dr. Newton.

　　B: Well, you’re going to be disappointed to find that although his books are interesting, his lectures are quite tedious. He talks in a monotone, repeats himself, and usually ends class a half-hour late.

　　A: 一直以來我都很想聽Newton博士的課。

　　B: 那你會失望的。他寫的書挺有意思，可他的課卻又臭又長。他說話的聲音單調(diào)，愛重復，還常推遲半小時下課。
