約翰: Why are you late?

你怎么遲到了?

吉姆: It rained last night.

昨天晚上下雨了啊。

約翰: Don't make excuses for yourself

不要為自己找借口。

吉姆: The rain was too heavy. The road was so wet and slippery that for every step I made forward, I slipped backwards two steps.

那雨太大了啊。馬路上又滑又濕,我向前進一步,就會向后退兩步。

約翰: Well,if it rains again tomorrow, start walking in the opposite direction.

哦如果明天再下雨的話,就請你往相反的方向走吧。

吉姆: Ok, I will follow your advice in case of rain. Thank you so much!

約翰: Hey, Jim. You are not a little boy anymore. Stop joking.
