The dog days of summer are here. While soaking up the sunshine is a must, exposing our skin to ultraviolet (UV) radiation poses some serious health hazards. This is where sunscreen comes in handy to protect our skin.
隨著大熱天的來臨,曬日光浴是必不可少的環(huán)節(jié)。但我們的皮膚赤裸裸地暴露在紫外線下,很容易危害健康。想要保護(hù)我們的皮膚,防曬霜就派上了大用場。
There are many misconceptions with sunscreen.You have those people who think that getting the highest SPF will protect them better than a lower SPF.
對于防曬,有不少誤區(qū)。很多人認(rèn)為高SPF比低SPF防曬的效果更好。還有一些人認(rèn)為自己不會曬黑,所以根本不需要高防曬指數(shù)的防曬霜。
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor.
SPF是防曬系數(shù)的意思。
To figure out how long you are safe from the sun (at least the UVB rays) you need to do a little math.Take the number of SPF and multiply it by 10.
需要計算一下才能知道你在太陽下可以待多久而不會被曬傷(至少不被UVB射線曬傷)。將SPF系數(shù)乘以10得出來的時間就是防曬產(chǎn)品的保護(hù)時間。
That is the time that if you were under perfect conditions, you’d be safe from the sun’s rays.For example: SPF 20 x 10 = 200 minutes of sun protection.
例如:SPF20的防曬產(chǎn)品可以保護(hù)200分鐘之久。理想的條件意味著你不是在水里或是在出汗。
Then, there are those who won’t use sunscreen with a high SPF because they think they won’t get a tan.Here are the facts.Higher SPF’s aren’t always necessary.
然而事實并非如此。高的防曬指數(shù)并非總是必需的。
下面幾種情形告訴大家選擇什么樣的防曬霜。。
1. Day of commuting and indoor fun
通勤與室內(nèi)活動
Scenario: You’re headed to the office or school, or are engaging in indoor activities that require little time in the sun.
適用情境:去公司上班、去上學(xué),或是參與幾乎曬不到太陽的室內(nèi)活動。
SPF (Sun Protection Factor) requirement: 15 or less
防曬系數(shù): ≤15
Solution: Even a two-hour shopping spree in a brightly lit indoor mall is equivalent to spending about an hour in the sun, because fluorescent light bulbs also emit UV rays.
防曬建議:在燈火通明的購物中心里掃貨兩小時,幾乎等于在大太陽底下曝曬一小時,因為商場里的各種熒光燈也會產(chǎn)生紫外線輻射。
2. Season for traveling and outings
外出旅游與戶外活動
Scenario: Exploring a city on foot is the best way to absorb the local culture. But strolling around also takes time and exposes your skin to UV rays.
適用情境:想要體驗當(dāng)?shù)匚幕?,在一個城市中徒步探索是最好的選擇,然而,到處溜達(dá)不僅占了時間,也使我們的皮膚長時間暴露在陽光下。
SPF requirement: 30 or less
防曬系數(shù): ≤30
Solution: Wearing a hat and long-sleeved clothes is sensible, but putting on a sunscreen with a broad-spectrum SPF of 30 is the ultimate protection, especially during the peak hours for sunrays between 10 am and 4 pm. However, sunscreen often degrades fast when exposed to the sun for more than an hour, so make sure you reapply it at least every 90 minutes.
防曬建議:帶帽子、穿長袖都是明智選擇,然而,終極保護(hù)還是需要防曬系數(shù)30的廣譜防曬霜,特別是在日照最強(qiáng)烈的早10點至下午4點之間。需要注意的是,暴露在太陽下一小時以后,防曬霜的保護(hù)效果會迅速下降,所以,保險起見,建議至少每一個半小時重新涂抹一次防曬霜。
3. Sunbathing on the beach
沙灘日光浴
Scenario: Sunbathing gives us a healthy tan, but overexposure to the sun’s rays can do more harm than good to our skin.
適用情境:日光浴能為我們帶來健康的小麥色肌膚,然而,過度暴曬則弊大于利。
SPF requirement: 50 or more
防曬系數(shù): ≥50
Solution: Keep in mind that you need the strongest sun protection you can get. Look for a thick sunscreen with an SPF of at least 50 that offers broad-spectrum protection. Or better still, a waterproof one that will give you longer-lasting protection. Don’t forget to reapply it every 60 minutes, or whenever you sweat or get wet.
防曬建議:這時候,你需要最強(qiáng)效的防曬保護(hù):一層厚厚的防曬霜,其防曬指數(shù)不得低于50,并且要能抵擋所有波長的紫外線。當(dāng)然,要想取得更好更持久的防護(hù),你需要選擇具有防水功能的防曬霜。最后,別忘了每1個小時,或是每次你出了汗的時候都重涂一次防曬。
Perfect conditions mean that you aren’t in water or sweating.Because you want to be safe from the sun, I’d recommend applying every 1-2 hours, no matter the SPF.
要做到防曬,我的建議是,不管防曬系數(shù)是多少,每隔一兩個小時涂一次防曬霜
