Apple is going to pay the American teenager whodiscovered a security flaw in the company'sFaceTime system.

蘋果公司將向在FaceTime系統(tǒng)中發(fā)現(xiàn)安全漏洞的美國孩子付錢。

Grant Thompson, a 14-year-old from Arizona, founda bug that meant he could listen in to group chats onthe video-calling service.

來自亞利桑那州的14歲的格蘭特湯普森發(fā)現(xiàn)了可以通過視頻通話服務(wù)竊聽群聊的漏洞。

The bug meant an iPhone could be turned into a livemicrophone while using Group FaceTime, with callers able to activate another persons'microphone remotely even before the person has accepted or rejected the call.

該漏洞意味著iPhone可以在使用多人FaceTime時變成麥克風(fēng)，即使在此人接聽或拒絕呼叫之前，呼叫者也能夠遠(yuǎn)程激活另一個人的麥克風(fēng)。

 

 

It has not yet been revealed how much the teenager and his family will receive. Apple alsoplans to give him an additional gift towards his education, reports say.

目前還不知道這個孩子及其家人會收到多少錢。據(jù)報道，蘋果公司還計劃向他的教育提供額外的禮物。

Grant Thompson and his mother said they tried to contact the company about the problem formore than a week before Apple turned off the group-chat feature.

Apple has since released an iPhone update to fix the FaceTime flaw. The software changebecame available to install on Thursday as a part of Apple's iOS 12system.

The new version includes a message saying it “provides important security updates and isrecommended for all users”.

The privacy bug was not just limited to iPhones. All devices that allow group FaceTime, including iPads and Macs, each have their own software update.
