給情人回函

Dear Jenny,

I can’t tell you how happy I was to get your letter. I miss you terribly. Fortunately, I’ve been pretty busy getting settled, which takes my mind off of my loneliness. But every time I have a moment to myself, I think about you.

I also wish my company would assign me to Taiwan permanently, but it’s unlikely right now. At least I don’t have to stay here permanently, either. What keeps me going is the thought that in a few months you’ll be in my arms again.

親愛的珍妮：

我無法形容收到你的信我有多開心。我非常想念妳。幸運(yùn)的是，我一直忙于安頓下來，這樣一來讓我比較不覺得孤單。但是每當(dāng)我有自己的時(shí)間時(shí)，我總是想著你。

我也希望公司可以將我永久地派到臺灣來，可是目前不太可能。但至少我也不需要永遠(yuǎn)待在這里。支持我繼續(xù)下去的念頭是再過幾個(gè)月，你就可以重回我懷抱了。

8. offer提供&. vi.主動提議

offer to V主動愿意……

注意:

offer之后若以名詞或代名詞作賓語，表“提供”;若以不定詞

作賓語，則表“主動愿意”。

例:Thank you for of f eying me the opportunity to try it.

(謝謝你提供我這個(gè)機(jī)會試一試。)
