One of China's largest video platforms, iQiyi, announced on Monday that it's removing all view counts on its website, and instead would be adopting artificial intelligence (AI) technology to help recommend videos.
我國視頻網(wǎng)站巨頭之一愛奇藝9月3日宣布關(guān)閉其網(wǎng)站上的播放量顯示,轉(zhuǎn)而借助人工智能技術(shù)向用戶推薦視頻。
“播放量”在這里用view counts表示,即某個視頻被用戶看過的次數(shù),這是這些年引發(fā)頗多關(guān)注的“流量”數(shù)據(jù)的一種,其他的流量數(shù)據(jù)還包括,網(wǎng)頁的瀏覽量(page view,PV),點擊量(hits/clicks),某個網(wǎng)頁或者產(chǎn)品的獨立訪客數(shù)(unique visitor,UV)等。由此而產(chǎn)生的所謂“流量明星”就可以用online celebrity with a huge fan base表示,或者簡稱為online celebrity或者social media star也可以。像楊冪那樣的“帶貨女王”則可以直接用queen of driving sales表示。
愛奇藝在聲明中表示,將嘗試結(jié)合內(nèi)容作品的美譽度、社會影響力、價值導向等多個因素,搭建一個更為多元、綜合權(quán)重更為合理的熱度評估體系(popularity indicator)。
據(jù)愛奇藝首席內(nèi)容官介紹,該體系包括以下三方面的數(shù)據(jù):
基于播放時間的行為數(shù)據(jù)(behavioral data based on viewing time),關(guān)注用戶觀看某個視頻的具體時長而不是視頻的點擊次數(shù);
用戶互動數(shù)據(jù)(interaction data),包括評論、點贊、轉(zhuǎn)發(fā)等數(shù)據(jù);
用戶分享行為數(shù)據(jù)(sharing behavioral data)。
愛奇藝在聲明稱,在“唯播放量論(making view counts the sole criterion)”的影響下,不少從業(yè)者將播放量數(shù)據(jù)作為目標,不僅扭曲了創(chuàng)作和宣傳的初心(distort the original purposes of creation and publicity),還為吸引眼球而低俗炒作(hyping vulgar content),甚至令行業(yè)滋生出刷量等違法行為(illegal acts like faking view counts)。與此同時,劣幣驅(qū)逐良幣現(xiàn)象日趨抬頭,大量優(yōu)質(zhì)作品因為缺乏綜合客觀的評價體系而埋沒(good contents were flooded out of public sight due to the lack of comprehensive and objective assessment system)。
在這樣非良性競爭環(huán)境下,制作公司失去了指導內(nèi)容制作的評判依據(jù)(production companies cannot make project decisions based on existing data),用戶在選擇內(nèi)容時得不到有效的參考目標(no helpful reference is available for users),廣告主也無法對營銷投放效果做出合理評估(advertisers are unable to make sound assessment on marketing effect),行業(yè)健康可持續(xù)成長的土壤遭到破壞。
