第十四章 介詞 of 的用法

　　1. of:

　　1)的(表示所屬關(guān)系)：

　　It's the custom of the country.

　　這是這個(gè)國(guó)家的習(xí)俗。

　　Have you got the complete works of Shakespeare?

　　你有沒有莎士比亞全集?

　　What's your date of birth?

　　你出生日期是哪一天?

　　2) of 表示特征(作表語(yǔ)或定語(yǔ))：

　　We’re of the same opinion.

　　我們的意見是一致的。

　　Your help is of great value to us.

　　你的幫助對(duì)我們很有價(jià)值。

　　Birds of a feather flock together.

　　物以類聚。(諺)

　　3)和表示數(shù)量的詞連用：

　　The four of us went on working.

　　我們四個(gè)人繼續(xù)干。

　　I’m going to get a packet of cigarettes.

　　我去買一包煙。

　　We’ve got plenty of work to do.

　　我們有很多工作要做。

　　4) of 用在帶先行詞 it 的句子中，表示談某人的情況：

　　It’s good of you to take the trouble.

　　你費(fèi)這事我非常感謝。

　　It’s nice of you to think of us.

　　難為你想到我們。

　　It’s careless of you to forget to lock the door.

　　你忘了鎖門，太粗心了。

　　5)(和動(dòng)詞連用)表示想到、談到等：

　　I often think of our days together.

　　我常常想到我們?cè)谝黄鸬娜兆印?/p>

　　They began to talk of their home town.

　　他們開始談起他們的家鄉(xiāng)。

　　I read of it in a magazine.

　　我是在一本雜志上讀到這事的。

　　6)(of 和一形容詞連用)表示對(duì)……的某種情緒：

　　She's very fond of sports.

　　她酷愛運(yùn)動(dòng)。

　　He was sick of the city.

　　他討厭那座城市。

　　There's nothing to be afraid of.

　　沒有什么可怕的。

　　6)(of 和一形容詞連用)表示對(duì)……的某種情緒：

　　It's just waste of money.

　　這完全是浪費(fèi)金錢。

　　I hope this will be productive of results.

　　我希望這能產(chǎn)生結(jié)果。

　　7)還可用于某些成語(yǔ):

　　of course 當(dāng)然

　　of clock=o’clock ……點(diǎn)鐘
