第十四章 介詞 to 的用法

　　1. to:

　　l)向(某處)，去(某地):

　　she goes to school by bike.

　　她騎自行車上學(xué)。

　　All roads lead to Rome.

　　條條大路通羅馬。(諺)

　　Where are you off to?

　　你到哪兒去?

　　2)到(某時(shí)間或數(shù)量):

　　We'll change the date to Feb. 28.

　　我們要把日期改到二月二十八日。

　　It's ten to four by my watch.

　　我的表是四點(diǎn)差l分。

　　The committee will have five to seven members.

　　委員會(huì)將由五至七人組成。

　　3)喜(某人)，為：

　　I'll apologize to you.

　　我將向你道歉。

　　Let's drink to the friendship between our two peoples.

　　讓我們?yōu)閮蓢?guó)人民的友誼十杯。

　　4)對(duì)：

　　He is always polite to people.

　　他一喜對(duì)人彬彬有禮。

　　You're awfully nice to us.

　　你對(duì)我們太好了。

　　Are you allergic to any medicine?

　　你對(duì)什么藥物過(guò)敏嗎?

　　5)用于某些成語(yǔ)：

　　She did the work to the best of her ability.

　　她盡量把這工作干好。

　　To the east of the house was a low hill.

　　房子?xùn)|邊有一圈矮山。

　　We always fit to our words.

　　我們一貫言行一致。

　　Pay attension to the well-being of the masses.

　　關(guān)心群眾生活。
