There's no denying that human babies are cute.But even other species tend to have adorable infants.

毫無疑問 人類的嬰兒特別可愛。不過 其他物種也有萌萌的幼兒。

So,why have science conditioned us to find babies so precious? Is there something specific that triggers our urge to hold and squeeze them?

那么 科學(xué)該如何解釋我們“萌”物之心呢?有沒有特定的因素促使我們抱抱它們呢?

Interestingly,studies have found that Macaque monkeys pay little attention to newborn faces,leading researchers to believe that the cute feeling maybe entirely human trait,Unlike many other species,once born human babies are completely dependent on their parents for survival.

有趣的是 有研究發(fā)現(xiàn)獼猴不怎么關(guān)注新生兒，這讓研究者相信“萌”感可能只是人類的特點(diǎn)。和其他物種不同 出生后。人類的嬰兒完全依靠父母生存。

As a result,humans have adapted to find certain traits.aesthetically pleasing and downright adorable in an effort to increase interaction,care and protection from parents.This,in turn,enhances offspring survival and perpetuate our species,But,what exactly make something seem Cute?

因此 人類已適應(yīng)于能發(fā)現(xiàn)某些特點(diǎn)，美學(xué)上是悅目 白話就是“萌”，籍此從父母獲得更多的交流 照料和保護(hù)。反之 這也增強(qiáng)了后代的生存力 讓人類得以長存。不過 是什么讓事物“萌”呢?

Known as Baby Schema,scientists have come up with a set of tested traits,that make something appear Cute,These include a large,round head related to the body,large eyes below the mid-line of the face,protruding cheeks,a big forehead,round body and soft surfaces.And no doubt,our species is born with fully-grown large eyes,almost full-size brains,soft skin,big cheeks and round bodies.In fact,in test where baby photos are manipulated to have more baby schema traits.whether they are human babies,or dogs and cats for example,they are rated as Cuter and participants felt a stronger motivation to take care of these babies.

這就是“嬰兒圖式”科學(xué)家提出了了一套經(jīng)驗(yàn)證的特征 讓東西看上去很“萌”。其中包括相對(duì)身體較大且圓的腦袋，超過半邊臉的大眼睛 突出的臉頰，碩大的額頭 圓圓的身體及柔軟的皮膚。毫無疑問 我們出生時(shí)就有發(fā)育完全的大眼睛，幾近成型的大腦 肉肉的皮膚大臉頰和圓圓的身體。其實(shí) 在實(shí)驗(yàn)中 但嬰兒照片被人為添加更多嬰兒圖樣特征，無論是人類嬰兒 還是貓狗之類的，都更受萌寵 參與者有更強(qiáng)的沖動(dòng)來照顧這些嬰兒。

Even when the front of the cars were altered in accordance to the baby schema,like making the headlight larger to mimic big eyes,participants experienced a more positive response.

即使在一輛改裝出嬰兒圖樣的車前，比如把車頭燈加大 模仿大眼睛，參與者也給出了更積極的評(píng)價(jià)。

It turns out,it's all in our head,When viewing babies with enhanced baby schema proportions,the Mesocorticolimbic System of our brain is activated.These parts of the brain enhances the anticipation of a reward and can lead to a sense of enjoyment,motivation to care for something.and the urge to cuddle or hold an object.

結(jié)果證明 一切都?xì)w功于大腦。當(dāng)看到具有鮮明嬰兒圖樣比例的嬰兒時(shí)，大腦的皮質(zhì)系統(tǒng)就會(huì)被激活。大腦這塊區(qū)域會(huì)增強(qiáng)對(duì)獎(jiǎng)賞的預(yù)期 并會(huì)產(chǎn)生照顧某物快感和動(dòng)力。以及擁抱某物的沖動(dòng)。
