Martha:
Cullen: Ok, Mrs. Patterson. How does $1,80 sound to you?
Cullen:
Martha: Well, it does sound better, but $1,70 would be fair…
Marth:
Cullen: Mrs. Patterson, you’re killing me here! Where’s my profit?
Cullen:
Martha: Come on, Cullen! I come here almost every day! Let’s make it $1,75!

Vinnie: Well, it’s a classic. And it’s almost in mint condition.
Vinnie:
Ginna: There’s a dent over here. How much?
Ginna:
Vinnie: I’m asking twenty five grand.
Vinnie:
Ginna: That’s a lot of money for an old car…
Ginna:
Vinnie: An old car?! What do you mean? I’m only selling it because I’m getting married. This is a great car!
Ginna: I’ll give you fifteen!
Ginna:
Vinnie: Fifteen!!?? Lady, I can’t sell it for fifteen! The tires are brand new and everything in it is original! I’ll let it go for twenty three. Not a penny less.
Vinnie:15,000??
Ginna: Well, I don’t think I want to pay that much. Thanks, anyway…
Ginna:
Vinnie: Lady, have a heart! Wait! Well, how about twenty two?

Vinnie: So, you’ll pay twenty one grand cash?
Ginna: Seems fair to me.
Ginna:
Vinnie: Ok, then. Deal. Do you have the money on you?
Vinnie:
Ginna: Of course not! I’ll have to go to the bank, and I’ll be back in a little while.
Ginna:
Vinnie: While you do that, I’ll get the papers so we can sign. I’ll wait for you here.
Ginna: Do you have an extra set of keys?
Ginna:

Ginna: Great! My husband is going to love it!
Ginna:

Bargaining a Better Price on a House
John: So, what do you think? The house is really well located, and the schools in this neighborhood are great.
Duke: How much do they want for it?
Duke:
John: They’re asking $820.000,00.
John:
Duke: That’s really expensive for this place. I was thinking something more like $700.000,00.
John: It’s not expensive at all. And the house was just refurbished. Everything is new.
John:
Duke: Well, I don’t think I’ll go any higher than $720.000,00. Talk to the owner and let me know.
John: Well, I’ll talk to him. But that’s way below what he expects. And besides, that’s market price…
Duke: Talk to him. Call me when you know something.
Duke:
