"Certainly," replied Stuart, looking into the driver's seat and blowing the horn.

“當(dāng)然，”斯圖亞特回答著，察看了一下車座，又摁了摁喇叭。

But isn't it going to attract too much attention?

不過(guò)它會(huì)不會(huì)引起別人的注意?

Won't everybody stop and stare at such a small automobile?

這么小的車，每個(gè)人都會(huì)好奇地盯著它看的。

"They would if they could see you," replied Dr. Carey, "but nobody will be able to see you, or the car."“如果他們發(fā)現(xiàn)了你，當(dāng)然會(huì)的，”凱里醫(yī)生回答。“不過(guò)沒(méi)人能看到你和你的車。”

"Why not?" asked Stuart.

“為什么不能?”斯圖亞特問(wèn)。

Because this automobile is a thoroughly modern car.

因?yàn)檫@輛車只不過(guò)是輛模型車而已。

It's not only noiseless, it's invisible.

它不僅沒(méi)有噪音，而且也小得讓人看不見(jiàn)。

Nobody can see it.

所以沒(méi)人會(huì)注意到它的。

"I can see it," remarked Stuart.

“可我能，”斯圖亞特說(shuō)。

"Push that little button!" said the Doctor, pointing to a button on the instrumentpanel.

“摁一下那個(gè)小按鈕!”醫(yī)生說(shuō)著，指著指示盤(pán)上的一個(gè)按鈕。

Stuart pushed the button.

斯圖亞特摁了一下那個(gè)按鈕。

Instantly the car vanished from sight.

小汽車立刻就從眼前消失了。

"Now push it again," said the Doctor.

“現(xiàn)在再摁一下，”醫(yī)生說(shuō)。

"How can I push it when I can't see it?" asked Stuart.

“我都看不到了，還怎么摁哪?”斯圖亞特問(wèn)。

Feel around for it.

憑感覺(jué)摸摸看。

So Stuart felt around until his hand came in contact with a button.

于是斯圖亞特四處摸索起來(lái)，直到手碰到了一個(gè)按鈕為止。

It seemed like the same button, and Stuart pushed it.

感覺(jué)它好像和剛才那個(gè)一樣，斯圖亞特便摁了下去。
