I think actually the Welsh name for Welsh cakes means "stone", the stone that they would havebeen baked on in the oven. Your family's Welsh?

So the recipe has kind of come down through the ages, and I remember Mum making it when Iwas little, and then Austin took over making it and has added a few spices to it and things.

It looks pretty legendary to me,but I understand that your mum never wrote the recipedown, so how did you go about recreating it?

I had to liaise with both of my brothers to see what they could remember.

Between us, we sort of took pictures and emailed each other and described the smell of it. Howfantastic.
