And this week, it's cheese graters.For manycenturies, we've needed ways of reducing that todust.

We've got five different types of cheese grater. First up is a real antique.

The man who was credited with inventing the cheese grater of this type was FrancoisBoullier,during the cheese-eating craze in the 16th century.

We've also got a classic box grater.There's probably one of these in every kitchen in the land.

And one of its variations,this round one has a container to catch the cheese.

This is a rotary grater, also know as moulinette a fromage.

這是旋轉(zhuǎn)刨絲器，也叫絞絲器

It's most common in France,but getting a foothold in kitchens this side of the Channel too.

And finally, we have a high-tech one, a power grater. One push of the button and it grates tillthe cheese runs out.

I've got a fundamental flaw with my grater on here.Well, you might as well grate it beforeyou put it in.

Frenchman Francois Boullier invented the grater way back in the 1540s, as a way of using upcheese that had gone hard.It was an instant hit

You'd be 106 if you were doing a souffle!

Now, it may be slow,but if you can't use a normal grater, this powered one means that youdon't have to go without grated cheese.

The rotary grater grates the cheese very fine, and it does keep your little pinkies safely awayfrom the blades.
