Despairing of him, therefore, I determined to go tobed and to sleep; and no doubt, before a great while,he would follow me.

But previous to turning in, I took my heavy bearskin jacket, and threw it over him, as itpromised to be a very cold night;

上床前，我把那件又沉又厚的熊度外套披在了他身上。

and he had nothing but his ordinary round jacket on. For some time, do all I would, I could notget into the faintest doze.

我吹了蠟，努力想讓自己盡快地入睡，可怎么也睡不著。

I had blown out the candle; and the mere thought of Queequeg—not four feet off—sittingthere in that uneasy position, stark alone in the cold and dark;

想想吧，和一個(gè)盤腿坐了一天的異教徒呆在這樣冰冷的房間里，相距不超過四英尺，你怎么能睡著呢?!

this made me really wretched. Think of it; sleeping all night in the same room with a wideawake pagan on his hams in this dreary, unaccountable Ramadan!

最后總算朦朧入睡了，恍惚中醒來，天快亮了，魁魁格居然還坐在那兒，與昨天晚上毫無二致!

But somehow I dropped off at last, and knew nothing more till break of day; when, looking overthe bedside, there squatted Queequeg, as if he had been screwed down to the floor.

陽光透過窗欞，射進(jìn)了屋里?？駝恿?他掙扎著站起來，骨頭節(jié)嘎吧嘎吧一個(gè)勁兒地響，他拐著腿走到床邊，一臉的喜悅。
