I entered my consulting-room and found a gentleman seated by the table.

我走進(jìn)診室，發(fā)現(xiàn)有一位先生坐在桌旁。

He was quietly dressed in a suit of heather tweed, with a soft cloth cap which he had laid down upon my books.

他穿著樸素，一身花呢衣服，一頂軟帽放在我的幾本書上面。

Round one of his hands he had a handkerchief wrapped, which was mottled all over with bloodstains.

He was young, not more than five-and-twenty, I should say, with a strong, masculine face; but he was exceedingly pale
