1. big boy: 大人物，大亨。父親這樣說是在鼓勵Brady得獎。

2. sick to my stomach: 沒胃口了。Miranda碰到了苛刻的老板，因此在準(zhǔn)備工作材料時著急得“沒有胃口”。

3. two bites: 吃兩口吧。

make two bites at a cherry: 過分小心，或指均分微不足道的東西。例如：

Never make two bites at a cherry.（做事不要拖泥帶水。）

There is no need to make two bites at a cherry. We can finish cleaning all the rooms today.（我們今天就可以把所有的房間打掃完，用不著分兩次干。）

4. push yourself do this: 逼迫自己這樣做。

5. suck it up: 逆來順受，忍氣吞聲。例如：According to the then situation, what can he do except to suck it up and say nothing?（照當(dāng)時情況，他除了忍氣吞聲又能怎么辦呢？）

6. legal fees: 律師費，訴訟費。

7. win-win：雙贏的，常用說法為win-win situation。

8. go for: 主張，擁護。凱瑞在這里的意思是“我當(dāng)時得搭腔啊”。

9.cup cake: 杯形蛋糕。

10.vintage: 常用來形容“古老的，最佳的”，例如：This film is vintage Chaplin.（這部影片是卓別林的最佳代表作。）

11.sprinkles: 裝飾糕點用的著色珠子糖。
