First it was a bag of ashes, then a wheel of cheese, and now an anti-circumcision protest has interrupted a recent Pink concert.
During a show in San Antonio on Monday night, the Grammy-winning pop star had a concertgoer removed after he disrupted the performance by yelling about circumcision and displaying a message on his phone calling the practice "cruel and harmful."
As captured on fan footage posted to social media, Pink had just entered the acoustic section of her concert and was sitting near enough to read the message. She paused to look as the protester leaned forward and held up his phone.
"Oh wow, you're making a whole point right now, aren't you?" she said. "Do you feel good about yourself?" Seemingly galvanized by the acknowledgement, the protester kept his phone up and yelled, "Yes!" in response.
"Are you gonna be all right?" Pink asked dryly. "You spent all this money to come here and do that?" By this point, other audience members were cheering the singer on. She added, "I'm gonna have to buy a Birkin bag with that ticket money. Get that s--- out of here."
The protestor then turned to share his message with the rest of the crowd, who booed in response.
"He wants all of you to read it," Pink said. "He came here tonight to talk about circumcision."
Responding to her words, the man began yelling in the direction of the stage. Pink then instructed security to remove him. As he was escorted out of the venue, she said, "I feel bad that he wasted his time tonight."
Pink, 44, is unfortunately no stranger to unsolicited opinions about circumcision. In 2019, she fired back at internet trolls who flooded an Instagram post with comments after she posted a photo of her then-2-year-old son, who had removed his swim diaper near a pool. After taking down the initial post, she commented on the "f---ing disgusting" responses that the photo had received.
"There's something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there," Pink wrote in a follow-up post. "Going off about my baby's penis? About circumcision??? Are you for real? As any normal mother at the beach, I didn't even notice he took off his swim diaper."
