論友誼

Friendship means being friendly to one other

友誼意味著彼此友好相處

or making friends with one another.

或與他人交朋友。

Human beings are social animals. They do not live in isolation.

人類(lèi)是一種社會(huì)動(dòng)物，他們不能孤立存在。

They need each other both physically and emotionally.

他們?cè)谏砩虾透星樯隙急舜诵枰?/p>

However,some people distort friendship

然而，有人曲解友誼

by forming small groups that are harmful to others,

組成小團(tuán)體對(duì)付他人

or even to the whole community.

甚至于危害整個(gè)社會(huì)。

In the university some students from the same city or province

大學(xué)里，來(lái)自同一座城市或同一省份的一些學(xué)生

form an association to help each other.

組成一個(gè)團(tuán)體，彼此互相幫助。

But such associa- tions often exclude students from other parts of the country

但這樣的團(tuán)體往往排除了其他地區(qū)的學(xué)生，

and thus do not promote friendship in a broad sense.

從廣義上講這不能促進(jìn)友誼。

True and lasting friendship is based on a more solid foundation.

真正持久的友誼是以更為牢固的根基為基礎(chǔ)的。

Real friends share the same ideal.

真正的朋友擁有共同的信念。

While marching toward their common objective,they help each other.

當(dāng)他們向共同的目標(biāo)邁進(jìn)時(shí)，彼此互相幫助。

If one makes a mistake,his friend will not hesitate to point it out of him,

若有一個(gè)人犯了錯(cuò)，他的朋友會(huì)毫不猶豫地為他指出來(lái)，

because he knows the frank criticism will help him.

因?yàn)樗勒嬲\(chéng)的批評(píng)會(huì)對(duì)他有益。

What we need is this type of genuine friendship.

我們需要的就是真正的友誼。
