　　原文含兩個(gè)狀語，一個(gè)在句首，一個(gè)在句中。譯成英文后，一個(gè)仍在句首，另一個(gè)，根據(jù)英語習(xí)慣，被移到了句尾。

　　a. They observed the chemical reaction with great care.

　　b. They observed with great care the chemical reaction.

　　原文的狀語放在主謂之間，譯成英語時(shí)可以置于句尾(如譯文a)，也可以置于謂語和賓語之間(如譯文b)。

　　(12)他們肩并肩地以瘋狂速度向那座石塔奔去。

　　a. They ran side by side at a fantastic speed towards the stone pagoda.

　　b. Side by side and at a fantastic speed they ran towards the stone pagoda.

　　c. Side by side they ran at a fantastic speed towards the stone pagoda.

　　同一個(gè)漢語句子，可用三個(gè)語序不同的英文句子來表達(dá)，這是因?yàn)橛⒄Z狀語的位置更靈活。三個(gè)譯文僅在狀態(tài)的側(cè)重點(diǎn)上有些差別。
